Caption Competition: Long-Haired Head-Clutcher

Regular readers will know that we do regular caption competitions based on the media’s predilection for cliched stock images when discussing mental health issues. I can announce that the winner of the previous caption competition is Markoneinfour with 8 points.

Which makes it appropriate that the image for the new comp is of him discovering the new Pulp tour has already sold out.

Actually, it’s not him. It’s an image used to illustrate an important story in the Daily Express suggesting some people may be improperly detained under the Mental Health Act.

One in every 25 mentally ill patients who have been sectioned have “irregularities” in their records which could mean they are being unlawfully detained, the health watchdog said.

Of 4,500 patient records checked by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) between 2011 and 2012, 4% contained mistakes which called the legality of their detention into question.

Give your caption suggestions in the comments thread. Vote your approval for a caption by clicking on the thumb-up icons. (Thumb-down votes will be ignored) At some arbitrary point we’ll count the votes to declare a winner.
